If broken bolt is hard to turn, use a bit of heat on the outside of the tube

Nels, don't forget that those damper mounting pins are made of tough material, so best to use a good quality drill bit, maybe even cobalt.
From what I've seen, a broken stud is usually the result of it having been under-tightened when the chassis was built up. The specified torque is 150 ft.lbs.

I had this happen took 3 drill bits and still didn't fix it, so I got a new bit re welded on by richard.

You should get EZ outs from any good local tool shop Halfrauds might do them to and some motor factors.

Clean out the mounting point with a cut up tooth brush and white spirit then put a new bolt in real tight.
