 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Cheers Dave I managed to order one off Le Bon Coin the same day. Hoping it will be the right one and hoping it will be with me very soon.
Thanks for the offer though, I may take you up on it if this one comes as a duffer.

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Started to dabble now, after christmas. Fixed all the lighting (added extra earth mods to the indicators to make them brighter), rewired the rear lights.
I think I have found the original paint now and it matches the AC513 etched in the engine bay. But I will probably paint it grey when I get round to it.

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Good day today. Got all my lights working correctly, brakes, rear tail lights, indicators and headlights. I changed the bobine out (because I bought a new one), the leads and spark plugs. Renewed an inlet gasket which was blowing, changed the wiper blades and ran new tubes for the washer (only to find my washer bottle has a split in it).
Now I am just waiting for my new fan to arrive and I will be on the road to the CT test centre.

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Traced all wires leading from dynamo, coil and lights and removed some of the connectors and soldered them directly to lessen as much loss in current as possible. Looks a lot tidier now - not sure why so many connectors are required along one single wire? Attachment:

Here is my old dynamo - I will check it against the new one when it arrives to see if there are any startling differences or damage, but at the moment I can't see any. Attachment:

And I finally plucked up the courage and removed a wing. Found a little more rust but I had assumed it would be there as I will have to replace the floor panels (currently covered in fibreglass) but other than it looks OK. I have now moved into the Barn so a little more comfy. Attachment:

Hi Ian Looking at your new pictures (and looking back at your other ones) the end of the armature looks damaged like it was rubbing on the brush holder.

Yep, that was my fault, when I put the brush holders back on, one was catching. I didn't notice until I saw the damage. I then adjusted it back but a little too late.

 Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
You need to have a gap between each copper piece. You can use a small very thin blade to re cut the grooves.
