I cleaned the enginebay today. A lot of degreaser and a hot steamcleaner with shampoo did the trick.

Not today, but Tuesday - bought one and brought it back to the UK.

Today I tried to restore a shine to some of the paintwork, but I reckon it'll be easier to repaint some of the panels!

Today I be mostly taking the body off as the MoT is due and there is a big hole where the L/h cill should be. Easier to tip the shell over I thought than the whole car. Glad I am that I did as there is a slight hole and rustiness showing on the toe board box section... :? Also, with the body on I can't get @ the rear dampers - these are friction ones - there is a seam on the shell that just prevents you getting the cover off the damper... Is this an original feature or is this the result of past rebuilds? The seam seems to be there on original (later) cars - not got another unmolested friction damper car to compare with - should it be hammered flat or was it always a problem, or where the panals different on earlier ones...?
Ta muchley

took the windscreen out of the 57 as it was leaking. I thought to kit around the thing and put it back in.....nope, some rust under the rubber. And 2 little holes. The drainholes were blocked, i managed to open one the other still to do. So some anti-rust proofing to do.
