It comes down to the UK being expensive for basic living costs , no rent controls, silly house prices, etc...
A competitive market economy???!!!!

As I said earlier, politics,a no win situation.Politiceans dont really listen to you or I,its all bollocks. We are governed by grown men and women, who act like children in their place of work, shouting and laughing at one another, even calling each other names, while on TV.Fucking pathetic.
Me,I dont vote,I have no opinion,I just get on with my life, cause what ever happens,we have no control, whatever party rules this country. They are all as bad as one another.
And James,Its a good job you dont work for yourself, you'd be working 7 days a week :o

Post Re: The O/T thread!
it feels like 8 days a week. :?

But at least for me it is 8 days a week in the Pyrenees :D

That is why I love living here - I watch UK TV and chuckle at what is going on and at the same time I am ignorant to what goes on here in France... win win situation.

Now why aren't F%$king Renault 4Ls as easy to work on as 2CVs..... this bloody water stuff is a pain in the arse

Its more the fact i was promised one without having to do more work.

I dont mean to be un grateful, but i dont want to work 6 days a week every week..

It's a fact of life now James that employers don't give a shit about staff, this goes across the board. Me I retired early from the police after 34yrs of service and was treated like shit at the end of my time.Employers trade on the fact that there's plenty of people who fill your place if you don't like it. Whilst in some way you should be grateful to have a job,it does not mean you should be f***ed when you boss feels like it.

i cannot judge about the situation in britain, but i guess it is about the same everywhere
me, i do have a opinion but i also dont vote anymore because, like you said, whe have very little or no influence on the decision making
i would not say all political parties are as bad as another but most are bad, and the others are worse!

i worked in an office, in several factories and as a truck driver
never much more than 2 years at the some place except for the 15 years i was self-employed
if i would have do it all over again i would never consider to work for a boss again!

Quite right, James. There's more to life than working after all. I know times are tough and yada yada yada, but if a few more of us refused to work for the risible wages some employers are offering (£6.75 per hour for driving lorries, for instance) then eventually employers would have to pay more in order to get decent staff. Well, I can dream, can't I? This is all the fault of that Thatcher woman ...

here in Holland last month, the unemployment rised with 24000 people alone....

Makes 1 think.
