Finally got around to putting the new headlamp bar on the shed that I got from 2cv City as a freemans - bit narrower than standard and needs adjusting slightly on offside for wing to fit - original Citroen ones have a flat spot on them - so I persuaded the same spot with a lump hammer! Seems a lot more solid and hopefully the lights won't judder around like they used too.....

Went to DHL office to pick up new camshaft for van. Rebuild van's engine and hey presto it works again. Thought I had to buy new van but 117 euros for camshaft and 1/2 days work and back on the road.

Luckily valves are vertical to camshaft. Took head off and checked all the valves. There was a mark on all pistons but no damage. All OK. Thankfully

Rifitted the reconditioned gearbox and engine to J... cheers for the help Jono.

Connected the wiring and turned the key... after a few attempts and a suck on the fuel pipe I succeeded in getting a large spark from the wiring loom and then silence.

Bugger.

I've only had my 2CV a few days so still getting used to it all. The other day I managed to lock myself in the back, today I tinkered with it and fitted a nice new tax disc holder
