 Re: French style number plates
I have French plates on both my cars. They are both UK registered. One, a 1957 AZ, has the original hand painted style and, as nearly 60 years old, gets away with it. The other is a later 2CV which failed on the plates last MOT because the spacing was also incorrect to 'highlight' the 2CV part of the plate. I have a pair of MOT plates that are regular UK specification with correct spacing that slip over the French plates. I got my plates from here: http://blacknumberplates.co.uk/

 Re: French style number plates
What is this fixation with old style number plates anyway? Regardless of the legality of them, I cannot get why people spend a small fortune on barely legal personalised plates that spell out KNOB or whatever suitable anagram of the name of the twat that is invariably driving the Beemer/Audi/Rangey - do you really want to be associated with that bunch of gimps?

 Re: French style number plates
When I rule the world there will be a cull because there are more people than the planet can support. Among the first on the list will be people who drive 4x4s on street tyres, they will be just behind the people who drive 4x4s on low profile street tyres on alloy wheels, who will be just behind the people who drive 4x4s on low profile street tyres on alloy wheels with no tow bar... Ooops! Did that come out loud...?

 Re: French style number plates
Silver Range Rover ( with personal plate) parked halfway on the footpath outside the village shop this evening, owner at the counter with phone clamped to his lughole, barking on about his next trip abroad. He even managed to get out of the door whilst still on the phone and carrying his shopping... As soon as he'd gone, the young lass behind the counter summed things up with one word. Four letters, starts with 't' and ends with 't'.
