It has started to rain in on my legs again, with water sloshing from one side of the car to the other....

I promised to repair the front scuttle panel during the summer....

It never happened...

When it finally stops raining again i may just remember to put the aluminium tape i bought from Lidls over the holes in mine.
Currently If My dashboard was a statue of the Virgin mary I could charge visitors to watch the tears running down.

What you need Russ is a modern hack for the winter, something rough that you don't care about, maybe a manky Peugeot van for example. What's that... Oh...

In fact I stand by the Lidls Ally tape method It sticks really well and if you rattle can over it the panel is a as good as new (If you squint a bit) besides that stuff was designed originally for fixing holes in passenger aircraft... 100mph tape the called it

This will be my second winter in a 2cv,and to be honest,I have found it ok.Yes,I have a nice thick underlay under the plush fitted carpet, and a thermal liner on the roof(inside of course),a heated rear window, and the heater seems to work ok.The bulkhead is well insulated and carpeted. No water leaks, except a small one into the boot, and not much wind noise either.
So yes,its a nice place to be,all warm and snug.
Arent all 2cv's like this?
And a good dab radio to listen to Gold .

My second Winter too, although I try and avoid salted roads. Working part time helps, so sounds like mine's a good one as well then. As I'm usually driving it in wooly hat and boiler suit I find it perfectly warm with a fantastic heater that has no right to be as effective as it is! Two carpets on the floor, no radio (took it out, hate driving with a radio on) or h/r/w though. Water does drip under the front of the closed hood so I'll be adding some closed cell self adhesive tape to the underside of the leading edge as soon as we get a dry day. The amount of condensation on wet mornings verges on the dangerous at times though!

Never had a problem with them in winter. Sure, driving around in the summer with no roof or doors is more fun, but I've been using A series Citroens as my sole transport for nearly 25 years now, give or take a brief flirtation with real cars for three or four years. Mine leaks, but it's just part of what it is and one of the things - oddly - that I like about it and that makes it different from a modern eurobox.

I just use it all the time - my 2 children love going to school in it. They do not mind the cold as all part of the fun. We do have Euro box (wifes's car) but try never to use it unless I have too. Sun, rain or snow just ENJOY
