I - finally - decided to fix the fuel pipe under the nearside wing, as unleaded is expensive stuff to be dribbling onto the road. Got a bit carried away and used sexy braided pipe. Then while I had it on the drive I greased the pins and topped up the oil. Not doing much with this engine though, since compression on the left hand pot is around 40psi, so as soon as the Land Rover's on the road, I'll be dropping the spare engine into the Dyane and rebuilding the original engine with nice new barrels and pistons.

Yesterday I adjusted the clutch and replaced an exhaust clamp. Today I'll be fitting a set of Avo dampers. Tomorrow I'll be packing it to head to snetterton.

Since being in work at 07:30 I've stripped & cleaned & repacked the wiper motor gearbox, rubbed down & treated the wiper motor back plate, cleaned & lubed the wiper mech. Now I'm having a well earned cuppa! The boss is off for another 8 days - gives me plenty of tinker time!

welded van, had to go get a new fuel filter as the old one broke at the drain cock, went to work , brought all the tools home - no issues ( tried to work out where to put the Spain sticker which had arrived)

Fitted replacement wiper delay unit with my modification (posted under intermittent wiper ) made an under shelf tray to take about 10 CD's and lined it with carpet tile to match that used elsewhere. 8-)

I swapped my roof back to the one I took off 5 years ago, as it's now better than the one that was on there. Weirdly I kind of like the faded orangey colour.

Had the refurbed Carb delivered to next door because I was worried I wouldn't be in when it arrived. I was. Next door weren't

So drove 120 miles back to London. Half a tank of fuel. No worries.

Used it to get to work and went 'the long way round' 20+miles instead of 5 miles. :D
