No Photos as yet but Freds transformation has started, Starting off With Cheap stuff that notices.
Fred is now running on bright red Smootherited Rims And the tires have had a lick of Whitewall paint (well one side has)
Fred is now looking like a Tatty Wolly crossed with a Cartoon Hotrod It Is a look he rocks well in my opinion :D

Post Re: Fred the Shed
Fred is coming along slowly I have decided a bit of a tart up (Well sort of) is in order whilst i save up to do it properly.

The rear corners were annoying the hell out of me. I dont mind the fact they have lots of filler in them for now ...It serves a purpose, what annoys my eyes is the fact they have been filled and not rubbed down.
Sounds daft dont it? I can handle rusty, I can handle plopped sanded down and painted , I cant handle half arsed bodywork.
So bearing this in mind I took the back drivers side wing off on saturday, hit above the wheelarch and back corner with a sander and Blew it in with grey Primer.
While the wing was off I hammered and dollied that back into shape, and blew that in with Red Oxide.

Then I put it all back together.
I am not a fan of Filler, Filler falls out,Filler Cracks and shrinks.
Fred has Filler already I can live with that for now as needs must but my aim is for him to have just about zero eventually

I have had a bit of Practice with the Hammers and Dollys though over the years so have been massaging metal with pretty good results so far. (If I say so myself)

So in short I have done repairs (Tidying up a bodge for now while i save my Pennies)
and they look a lot more noticable than the repairs that were there already (well from A distance, In reality its now smooth but noticable)
Whilst the Hammers and wollies were out I straightened out the Bonnet Bootlid and Drivers side front wing.
Bit of primer here and there.
Fred Is losing his cutesy Dollyesque Look slowly but surely and I must admit I am enjoying his down at heel look for now.
The only way i can explain it is its like wearing a pair of Jeans, they look better the more you wear them :D

With the recent inclement weather I have noticed another of Freds little Tricks He like giving me Wet feet :D
I think it may be the rotten plopped up lower windscreen surround
I will await the next bout of rain with interest and when it stops apply some gaffer tape to the affected area for now

A Guy at work has taken to calling me noddy cos of Fred, but then again i have taken to calling him Wanker...cos....well I will let you guess, so it sort of evens out anyway:lol: Im loving 2cv ing so tell me plese mr Bugster In the absense of having an owners manual what way do I pull the lever under the dash to get the hot air to clear the windscreen. I just cant remember for the life of me
Assuming its not all seized up
Took me abot a week to remember how to Half way the roof , but I have that down now :D

Its really been a while, there really should be a guide for born again 2cv-ers to remind them what does what.

Fred makes me smile a hell of a lot , I am really glad I got another one

Heh  I will put up some pics soon i promise, I must admit though My computer has fallen out with my Camera and neither are talking at the moment.
I did try some relate type counciling on them but Im guessing they are no longer compatable.
I will talk the Missus into sorting it on my behalf in the near future (Probably in a round the houses using her computer to e mail to me, me photobucketing them and then eventually posting them...)
Trials of life eh

Knob pulled out (so to speak) and unlike your rear engined, air cooled (and heated) teutonic, poached eggs you will be greeted by a blast of piping hot air to the screen.

Well that's what folk told me before I bought one. :)
