I just put a normal type rack on, putting the top straps in the rear doors. I put the top rest of the rack on or just below the rear screen where it is strongest and the lower one on the boot lid. My bike is quite heavy and have had no problems so far, in fact it seems to fit better and quicker on the 2CV than my wifes eurobox.

I have only just seen your entry,I tried this position first but I was worried about the glass and the possible damage to the roof. Whereas the position on the boot I considered there was to much flex in the boot skin, which could result in damage.Hence my support panel and brace..I my have over engineered it but hey it was fun

I'd just go on the bike and leave the car at home. Well, I would if I was still 23 and whippet thin, anyway.

Well I chickened out of cycling in the 9miles to work today as the trees are being blown horizontal and it's lashing down with rain.
