 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
When i had a red special i bought an aluminium one from some west country outlet (Frome?) ,you could choose the colour and they did it to the code of the car . Quite good ,obviously a lot lighter than stainless too.

Oh right cool! I attempted to put the seal on, fucked it up, used it until I could afford yet another replacement Sigh

It's normal steel, but came ready painted and with the seal in place. Think I got it in 2009 and it's fab, no rust at all. I can't believe you messed up the stainless one!! You twit!

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
I knew. The stainless one was nice. But it filled up with water, and as you went round a corner all the water would run out down my leg. Very annoying! But I bought this from Ecas an had it painted in white ... It's rotting from the inside Did you waxoyl yours Sam? I didn't

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
Not really muchto report, but its been a while since ive asked a stupid question so i thought i better ask one, I've got a heavy flywheel id like to fit, i know i need this clutch here (correct me if wrong) http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/diaphragm ... -1126.html Is there anything else I need? Will i need a centralising tool or anything? Once i get the keys to the garage next week id like to fit this, how long should i allow to do it? Ideally if i could crack it in an afternoon ill do it at work, as i can use the forklift to haul the engine out, but if not, in the garage The engine and box have never been seperated, so i geuss seperating them may be tricky, And is this a task an idiot like me can do? Is it fairly, easy (as in removel being the same as re fitment and self explanitory?) going to read the haynes manuel tonight to get an idea but any advice would be appreciated

New bolts for the flywheel. Get a friend to help you lift out the engine. You won't need a fork lift. It should separate quite easily. Check with Roy that you get correct clutch for your particular flywheel. A jack or blocks of timber to support front of gearbox when the engine is out.

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
I've heard rumours the quality of new flywheel boys doesn't batch up to even used bolts Also the flywheel is rusty slightly. Can I clean it up with the wore brush in the drill??

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
won't you also need a gearbox with the shorter splined input shaft? e.g- a dyane gearbox?
