Thanks for those pictures. I'll show my mum - she'll like to see it again. She had loads of 2CV's and did loads of miles in that particular one. I saw your van a few years ago on the A12 just North of Wickham Market. I was in my acadiane but couldn't catch up enough to wave!

I was having a shit time at work a few years ago and borrowed the Celeste for a weekend to cheer myself up (I didn't have an A series at the time). I got it back to Ipswich and the bloody thing broke down. I spent his waiting for the breakdown! It was fast though!

never let me down! i was impressed with its speed (i clocked 93 on sat-nav) and reliability it always had standard coil, ignition and everything, my van has 123, harly coil, 2>1 exhaust, cpd valve, its had bigger jets, high compression piston and barrel set etc and still woulda been no match!

not quite that simple, i went through a green light, she claims to have done the same. with no hard evidence they assumed the 18year old driver was at fault.. unfortunatly i was only covered 3rd party. back on topic now boys and girls!

"because of" needs to be inserted in the sentence above

Blue celests are bloody fast mine always just cruised about at 70 the only engine, other than the racers, that i found better was an entirely stock Portuguese rot box of a D*lly which has the strongest engine ive ever tried - its been apart a few times to see what's going on , reckon its just one where the cam is just spot on.

It's true. My Dad's old (B reg) Bleu Celeste was proper rapid too. Reliable as well. He sold it 2 years ago with just over 200,000 miles on the original engine and 'box, and it was still going strong. It was VERY slow when he got it though, as its previous owner had been an elderly lady who just used it to potter to the shops, but when my Dad got it, and set it up correctly, he then drove it hard on his 50 mile a day commute for 10 years and it loved every minute of it. Proof, as if it were needed, that a 2cv is for driving!
