So soon when I get this bike, I'm finally going to do my oil feed pipes!
I've acquired some metal shrouds in replacement of the crap rubber ones, do they will go off to the shot blaster
Now, heres my question. Powder coated or stove enamelled? Will the heat affect the powder coat?
And I'll probably get the rest of the cowling done too!

James,I painted mine with Mercury Phantom Black.Looks good and shiney and as its an enamel, should stay that way.And its cheaper than powder and stove.

Post Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
so, I used the old beast for the first time in a week on monday, and have used every day since, tomorow will probably be the last trip for a month or so, the trip being to my local panel beater friend, to see what he thinks of the small bit of rust, and book it in to get it sorted.
As you can see below, the bit of rust i mentioned a few pages back, now most people would go meh, its nothing, but it annoys me

I geuss if left un fettled in time it will get worse, im not in a great rush, as i probably wont be using the car for a while now, ill be manning it on my sports bike...

So im going to see if he can sort it, the otherside of the car is fine, but will probably get that done too as it is starting to rust but not like this side...

Theres also a few other bits like the bottoms of the doors, not sure what to do about them, probably sort them, keep them nice, and apart from that the rest is,... PERFECT still :D
Im amazed how well the car has "weathered" if thats the correct word, considering the abuse I gave it last winter, ok i washed it thoroughly every weekend without fail, but it was used all day every day (I was free lanceing then and was doing many jobs many places) and is still in a good good shape!

This is another reason to keep on top of the small bits of rust that do start to show there nose from time to time, and another reason to abuse the very rare bike I have too,

Although the bike is made of thicker metal :D

Enough blaber, the photos:

Im Not sure if i where to do it myself how id ever remove rust and spray that, whether youd have to cut the gutter out and re weld it,
Incidently would that be part of the gutter repair panel Roy sells? If so it may surely be easier to put a new piece in?

In other news, the bike is going well, i know its not a bike forum so thats all ill say!
a pic of it in the wagon and next to the wagon in the tiny garage i have!!

Not much to report
New vent flap I fitted is ready rotting which after 6 months is a bit disappointing :(
Still haven't sorted those bits of rust out. Really depresses me seeing it :(

Stainless
I did but it wasn't a wise move as I had to fit the seal and botched it up etc,
Should of stuck with my original one

Off Tomorow to see my panel beater friend to get the car booked in to get those bits done. Tempted to do it myself but it'd look shite
