Post I mentioned that I was reliving my yoof......(pics)
Found these old pics.....

First 2cv, bought when it was only 2 yrs old (in '81ish) .....ran it up to 140k miles before trading in for another...

Me (circa '82)

The wife (circa '82 and still putting up with me and my old unreliable cars...)

Yellow one was replaced by a blue one which became the multi-coloured one, Didn't start that way...I hit a tyre on the M8 one night coming home from work, the front end was a mess and, being short of cash, it was fixed up using bits...(rat look before it was trendy !)

I ran that car for many many years with only the drivers seat in place while I was rebuilding my house.....Carried all sorts in it including a full bathroom suite, with bath !! Slid in the boot nicely and was pushed up all the way to the dash :) )

That was then followed by another Blue Special, then the Bamboo (seen above)

2cv ownership then came to an end...but stayed in the family with a 652 Visa, then a 1100 watercooled Visa.....

Fast forward 30 odd years.....And I've come full circle :D Back enjoying the experience....!

(engine in bits at the moment but will be firing on 2 again in the next couple of weeks...)

Happy days :)

Cheers
Gerry

Love the X-plate car, that's what 2cvs should look like!

It was a mobile skip for around 3yrs...going to the dump filled with rubble an general building waste......bumper scraping the road....(rat look AND lowered....I was before my time )

Guys down the council yard knew me well :)

It also did a 60 mile commute every day as well as its dumper truck job....

I sold it to a young lady who put a bumper on it and and had it resprayed and I saw it around town for years after
