Re: An old album of A-series
Red chopped Dyane was done by one Dale Reardon. Its blueprinted 602 found its way into my old Ami6 Estate when he stuck it on a custom chassis with a big-block Chevy motor, and the moondiscs were for many years on my Beachy. I sold them last year on eBay. If I'm not mistaken to the left is Sally James's old drum-brake left hooker ex Belgian Health Authority car and the yellow car to the right was owned by one Nicky Perkins.

Blimey!! I didn't realise Dale Reardon was actually a club member. His roof chopped Dyane was campagined by himself in the 'Custom Car street eliminator' series & was very successful. BB chevy & roof chopped glassfibre body. this one:

Re: An old album of A-series
Aye. That's the same car as it finally ended up. In 602 guise when it was red, access was gained by stroking a panel on the roof with a magnetic key fob. A reed switch activated electric door locks which popped the doors open since there were no door handles!
The steering wheel was cool and I nearly ended up with it. It was an early Dyane one with the straight bar under the boss with the top third of the rim cut out!

It's trials & tribulations were well documented in Classic car magazine. It was soooo far gone that the bloke was turning it into a burton or a deauville, or some hideous looking kit car. The wheels i bought were f*cked & i took them staight to the tip!

Russell wrote: Whats the story behind that then Hamstall? was it yours at the time of the pic? No, I owned her about 2 years later and moved house in her. (Actually I think I have one photo of the house move!). At the time of that photo it was probably owned by a geezer from the North West whose name I forget, but really should remember, and I bought her from him at Knutsford Service Station. Prior to that it had been owned by Sally James who lived near me in Cheltenham, and before that a guy called Tony Dowding who was the parts manager at Ebdon's, the then local Cit agent. I sold her in 1989 to a bloke from Northampton I think. He was something big in the Borgward Owners' Club. Strangely enough, I first clapped eyes on NDW in about 1981, four years before that photo, when she was in the hands of her first owner, a bloke from Cardiff who was visiting someone in my street. I think he sold to Tony.
