Dave, that's where the heater controls were on LHD cars-much better than on the RHD ones in my opinion.

In other news, it's Saturday so I'm allowed to park on the carpark at work, the sun's shining and the Ami is the easiest car to get off the driveway-today is Ami day. 8-) :D

 Why are you only allowed to park in the car park on Saturdays?
Also, how did you source your Ami? Did Viking find it for you?

Because, sadly, we only have a small carpark and the bosses won't let us park on it during the week-we have tp park on a pub carpark over the road normally.

I found it on Leboncoin and Viking went to look at it for me. He then kindly went and paid for it and fetched it back to his pad for me and kept it there until I could fetch it. 8-)

Used the Ami for the trip down to Lumaca I2F HQ yesterday. Ranlike a dream but, by the time I got home, I was just about poisoned by the hot oil smells! :(

Looks like it's time to whip the front end off and have a look at where it's leaking from.

On the bright side though, it's helping to protect all that nice new metal I welded in over last winter.

As predicted elsewhere on here, my aim to start getting the old racer ready to use for winter came to nothing!

So instead, I decided to have a look at the oil leak on the Ami-realistically, a much better use of my time.

I removed the front panel (it's been off so many times now, I only have to ask it nicely and it removes itself I think!) and the fan cowling and pretty much saw the problem straight away-pissing out from the base of the rather knackered oil filler/reniflard.

Oh well, with the front off, I've got unparallelled access to the engine and the points needed looking at anyway!

Now you're in there, stick a new crank shaft seal on + look at the fuel hose pump to chassis.

I've already done all the fuel pipe and, in the absence of a new crank seal, that can wait until I do the rings and overhaul the heads fully.

In the meantime, I've woken up to rain so it looks rather as though I'll be getting wet today-oh well.

Half a story Spanners!

I braved the rain on Sunday and got on with the job. Rachael had been on nights so I was better off out of the house by 7:30, it's nice not having to rush a job!

Anyway, it was all back together by midday after I'd found a few other bits and pieces to fanny around with too.

Of course, I've not used it since for all my usual reasons but will be using it this weekend to go to Stratford for the CCC Midland Section rally-maybe see some/any of you others there?
