Post Re: An old album of A-series
Some cool photos from back in the day. A lot of Barrie's photos are from the Cheltenham WM in '85, as Stuart Watkins had his pickup there. Yup PGF 597V was Mick Playfor's van, and I've heard rumour that this currently resides in a garden near Saffron Walden in Essex. I used to see it occasionally around the Camb/Suffolk border area in the early '90's, the most notable when it pulled into the Sainsbury's petrol station in Haverhill in 1993 at the same time I was filling my Azzie drummer.
Last saw AMY in the flesh at the 1983 International at Howe Street. We got a picture of my sister with it (aged two at the time) as she's called Amy too! Ahh. It about as FUBAR as a you can get for a slough-built but I see that it does retain it's slough door handles at least.

The bog busters car was originally a 1974/5 Orange tenere 2cv6 complete with big brown single spoke steering wheel!

Oops, only just fully read your post, Rob!

No, the one he saved off Rob Merrivale was a very original beast originally imported in 1978 on a T plate & used until the early 80's IIRC. It was then stored until 'Quirky classics' got hold of it. It was adveristed on his (Rob's) website for 5k. Graham managed to prise it off him (eventually) for a fraction of that.

True, but it's donated them back now.

Looks like it to me - though I was very pissed most of the time and it was in '95!
