So the ami 8 estate arrived at tarquin towers today see e bay thread for pics and the news is good. body 90% rust free small amount of welding needed in the front floors sills and rear end all sound. most important roof section sound. (all) i got to do is weld in the van sections and make it rhd and able to accept 1015 engine and box swap the chassis and all running gear paint mot and drive to spain in 2013. there will be some parts for sale such as rear doors back wings etc pm me for details. Also front reclinging seats might keep them not sure yet.

I have to say it does seem a shame to break it. I know your van is rare, but they're not making Ami 8s any more either ...

at a ratio of 7:1 at registers day I think its a worth while sacrifice especially as non of those vans were running.

Apart from the engine what;s the difference between an 8 service and a super service?

Just get an 8 service, change it to RHD and whack the 1015 engine in.

That way the purist will be glad you've saved the 8 service.

You can use the reg docs from the super so you'll feel like you've saved a super service.

Even the modcons will be chuffed at the seemlessly built sidewinder.

no it not a shame to break it up apart from any thing else Im not breaking it up just adding some metal into the sides and rechassis it on to a super. im not turning it in to a lomax and the chassis that i dont use will be going under some thing else as well so in effect 1 ami 8 est is keeping 2 cars on the road
