 Re: The future!?
with more than a hint of the past 70/365 Bushey's Beer Bottle Car by slackaliss, on Flickr "the future for 2cv lover".....well as its not a 2cv i dont have to like it, its just a wank by a designer, who probably goes to work on a kids scooter,

 Re: The future!?
Well, it's alright, but it's the usual thing with these modern versions of classic designs (see also: Mini, Beetle, Fiat 500). As I suspected would happen when Citroen eventually brought out the "new 2CV", its headlamps are on little stalks and it's got a cute "face". This misses the point of the original by some margin. In fact, something like a Berlingo is much more a "new 2CV" than that thing in the OP is: removable seats, versatile load space, relatively small basic fuel efficient engine. The car above is designed to appeal purely to those who value form over function.

 Re: The future!?
although we've seen plenty of these "future 2cv's" i do however think, some of the original design specifactions will one day actually meet the criteria of future cars/owners!
we're all now looking for a very cheap, very practical car, with a very economical engine, a nice ride (suspension) a car that should appeal to the masses and make motoring easy for those with less money... and with the trouble the EU and other parts of the world are currently facing... only looking to get worse.. a car like this should prove it'self quite well!

 Re: The future!?
I want Tata to start flogging that Nano thing over here, that'd fit the bill just right!
