The last box of it I brought was "Fairtrade" too....If you commute along Ley Lines you will find your wheel "Chakras" will be much more in balence and you will feel "centered" and "at one with the wheel". I think you will find 2.4821126207999997 of "BAR" air is much more efficient and handles better at corners than "PSI" air.....also if you buy it in BAR....2.4821126207999997 of BAR is the same as 36 PSI...so its much cheaper, you dont use or need as much and if you go to Tescos they are doing "Bar One Get One Free". Or am I now getting confused with sheep ?

Squeezy, you are going to confuse the boy. Being a recent schoolboy he should be in metric. Kilopascals is what you are after. You get more to the pound.

Re: psi's , in the tyres
Always thought pressures seemed odd for a fwd machine, have played around in the past but always come back to 20/26 for best grip. Bearing in mind that Michelins were the tyres in consideration, which have very compliant sidewalls (and considered as part of the suspension as a whole by Citroen presumably), the 20psi front is enough to have the tread nicely flat (from a side-to-side pov) on the road when rolling on a smooth road in a straight line. Less and the sidewalls will be too soft for pothole edges and high speed (heat/friction), more and the tyre won't deform to the bump/corner/braking. So for gentle driving there is a minimum of tread/rolling resistance, then when having to brake heavily the tyre increases its footprint on the road and gives more grimpe. Similarly for higher cornering loads.
I find a 2CV is best on Michelins, and the faster you go the better they get. The tyre of choice (unfortunately) for me is Toyos on the front, simply for cost reasons. But they're ok for the money and the sidewalls aren't too stiff, like Firestones were. The extra width is good for roundabouts and other urban cornering, when speeds are low, but the extra rolling resistance and (ultimately) less grip from a cheaper compound highlights the gorgeous aspects of a Michelin X. Plus they can't scythe through deep puddles as well. I'd have nothing other than a Mich X on the back, once tried a 135 (Mich ZX) and the back end began losing grip quite suddenly at high cornering speeds, presumably as the squarer section isn't suited to the high angles of heel of the 2CV.

Re: psi's , in the tyres
Yes, 135 ZXs grip like fury - once had a new pair on the front of my 2CV. Toyos a reasonable cheap replacement. Didn't Michelin make a 135-15 in the X pattern with the same tread and X-sectional shape as the 125 - they'd be fine on the back!
Now that 15" Michelins are so expensive, has anyone rooted out a few 400c rims and bought the 125 or 135-400s from Longstone? They're barely any more expensive and the marginally bigger wheels fill the 2CV's arches in an eye-pleasing manner - not to mention the slightly better ride.

Re: psi's , in the tyres
I've never noticed a right lot of difference at the steering wheel, whatever the make of tyre or the pressure it runs at (within reason). I certainly won't be spending getting on for £100 per corner on Michelins for the Ami when it needs them: £33 each for Nankangs is much more affordable. If I have to go round corners a bit slower (which I doubt!) then so be it.

I had it on mabors, it would have been easier to stop the car before a corner and get out and bump the back end round with a couple of mates than trying to get it to turn with the steering wheel. The tyres are the one thing I regret selling with that car.
