The original factory one was "Cartier, Clingnoture CT6....Warning made in france" the last bit makes me giggle

anyway as the indicators work its probably not that.( it should be a 42/84w one)

the wiring on the back of the switch is a one way only plug so not like that's wrong

it would be worth testing that there is 12v to the switch

Although the fuse box connections aren't the most reliable things, the fuse for the Hazards is also shared by the brake lights and, if you've got one, the interior light. I'm assuming your brake lights are working fine, or the MOT man would have mentioned that too. That should rule out the fuse although it'll do no harm to double check the brake lights.

To clarify. When checking for a live at the black connector of the flasher relay, (ignition off, hazard switch on) if you disconnect it, it'll be the wire that should be live rather than the relay terminal.

Well thanks everyone for the advice. Its been in the mechanics now and they came to they found the indicator relay overheated and replaced it and now it all works so hopefully the MOT is coming soon. It was a weird one because the indicators were working but apparently the relay stopped working completely when it was with them.
Oh and also whilst with them the main light switch stopped working so I am now replacing that too.
I had replaced the relay last year and am a bit confused as to why I was supplied one that wasn't up to the job.

I have never had working hazards on my van Jeremy. Never failed an mot though.... ?! not sure why they don't work although the switch has a loose black wire and doesn't particularly operate well... never bothered me. Just flip on the massive joey if i break down!

I would suspect wiring connectors to hazard switch... not sure what else controls it!

Timmy ;)
