as ken said, blow down the pipe,

if your being ambitious surely something like this would work too

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-16-Fuel-Primer- ... 3a57b5b69f

obviously make sure you get one to fit the pipe thats just a suggestion

Got the fuel going, everything works fine, as ken said its much easier to pump fuel than air, and once I filled every part of the pipe with the help of an empty washing up liquid bottled fillled with prime super plus we had action,

So went to start and now no spark, Bugger!!!

Had a look at some of the wiring and the small piece of wire that connects the dizzy body to the elecy ignition bit was not looking to good, took the distributor off and 2 of the wires going into the connector had snapped off...Bugger once again..

So its off to the auto electrian to see if he can fix it, otherwise its £80 for a whole new unit...

I will get it started sometime soon...March is here and it was about time I got the beast up and running and MOT'd

Watch this space!!!!

Ok

The saga continues!!

All new and repaired parts back together but its not happening!!!

Starts up for about a second or 2 then stops with a loud bang and flames shooting up out of the carb...

Have I got myself a timing issue suddenly???
Was running fine when I first put that shit clutch in...the main thing I have touched is the distributor, put new cap and arm on and I have found out it can only got back in one way!!...
Have also tried twisting the distributor slightly which helps a bit but still doesn't want to run....

Anyone have any ideas???????

Looked at the last vid, It looks like your ignition is way to early, look at your rotor when it turns clockwise put your complete ignition house clockwise for about 1/4 inch. When your rotor goes anti clockwise then turn your ignition housing
also anti clockwise.

Put the distributer cap off cranck your engine , look in which direction it turns.

When this doesn't work try another 1/8 inch of adjusting in the same direction.Try to start again, tray another 1/8 of inch but it should be fine by now. when the engine runs try to back it up just a little, but make shore its starts good

It seems like the spark is coming to soon, killing the engine insted of revving it

if everything is wired in correctly including the little fuel/over fuel electronic thing on the carb then it should fire on half a turn providing the ignition timing is correct.

Mines slipped a bit since using it as it pinks on full bore and under load. Bought a timing gun as a start.

keep going, its worth it in the end!

Cheers Tim,

Got most of the front end back together last night so looks a little like a car again...

Apart from the starting issue its almost there!!!
