A thousand quid for an engine ECU? :o You can go to Comet/Curry/PCWorld and pick up an all singing, all dancing computer that will go online and let you play games and movies and music, for less than half that. These car companies are right proper criminal.

Someone I know has got a fairly new Peugeot estate. Under the armrest between the front seat is a storage box with a secondary plastic lid which has a push close/push open catch.

The peg broke off of the lid. This peg is not available as a spare part.

You have to buy the whole lid. Cost (and I kid you not!) is £320 :o :o :o

Bit OTT for the job and price wise or?

The important thing in that is the battery model code. "063"

A quick google for "063 battery" finds umpteen suppliers from about half that...

I can't open the link - the MoD have filtered eBay.

I've got this in the YSH:

520 CCA
52Ah

I *think* it's one of the more powerful batteries availiable in 063 flavour.

Yeh it is , the cheaper you go the less the cca and ah , i just wondered what the norm is since i can't remember and am no where near a manual.
My van no longer has a cb or stereo but does have a few internal lamps for camping which is why i was still tempted to go for a higher rated one . Does weigh a kilo more than a normal one.

I popped in halfrauds (just out of curiosity mind), they want £75 for an ordinary 063 and £95 for something like this

What's a YSH :?

Well, £1k is the figure he told me for the ECU ...

Anyways, I guess you're all sooo smug and clever and smart that you couldn't be bovvered guessing what made my neighb's leccy go all weird?

He connected up his completely flat battery to his charger the wrong way around, and reversed the battery's polarity. Then he then refitted the battery seemingly the right way in his car...

Reversing a battery's polarity - that was a new one on me :o
