That's a fair comment from Eastbourne; if you want to keep half an eye on it's future value, then perhaps keeping the obviously popular original colour scheme might well make sense.

Funny how tastes can change; I have a grey Charlie which I used to think was my fav 2CV colour. I can't wait to change it now - I find Charlie schemes just too fussy, trying too hard.

Subtle suits them.

my thoughts exactly.

Ok...WOW...thanks folks, some great input here.

Thank you all so much....when I am pacing around at 3.30am I will be trying to come up with some decisions.

However.....I think I might accept the deal from Joe, witnessed by all, my spare Jade swapped for his Grey/Grey Charlie....Hope you are happy Joe, Ive included some more detailed pics of your new car.......when are you delivering ????......MAX...MAX.....quick swap over our signature pics before he changes his mind !!!

Yep, seriously (dont worry Joe....I am only joking, I would love another Grey/grey Charlston, but somehow I reckon I cant afford that!).....lots of stuff going on in the tiny mind of Squeezebox.....hmm...several ideas and I appreciate your thoughts very much.

Will be back here again soon with plans and next stage of the D*lly Folly !!....cheers I2CVF.....nice to have your support!...much appreciated.

I have always wanted to oil my spring cans and grease knife edges while driving.
But in seriousness i wish you all the best with the D*lly. I would take Old Nails advice and paint it white with a red roof with a similar styled interior.
The world will lose a D*lly but gain a 2cv.

Post Re: D*lly Folly
Today had some real fun stripping the 21 year old that I have been trying to get my hands on for years. As you know she is Portuguese.

It didn’t take long for me to fumble around the back and undo a few fastenings and without much persuasion I managed to get her top off quickly. I’m obviously not the first, but as I said she hasn’t been played with much and so as I worked downwards I had to be quite careful and go slowly.

I was pleased to see she had a restraint strap protecting her back door. I managed to slide this aside and then realised that no-one had ever worked on the rear entrance before......

So I had to work carefully down and realised that things would be easier if I used some lubrication, working this into the channel.

I also didn’t want to tear the rubber protection thing as I wanted to wash it later and reuse it. I’ve got this slightly older, but I think more attractive French one down the road (the wife doesn’t like it if I bring them all home) and thought this maybe useful if I get to spend some time with her in a few months when I am bored with the Portuguese one.

So working carefully I managed to slide it up and down bit by bit and after only going a few inches at first. Soon however, the whole thing just came off in my hand.

Phew enough for one day….although tempted to try the same thing again from the other side tomorrow.
