Hi Ken & Sean

I'm very green when it comes to engineering sizes and codes.....what exactly do i have to ask for when it start ringing round for bolts? Also, Tom Duckpower mentioned a spring? Do I need a spring washer in the mix?

Thanks alot
Will

Will,
ask for 7/16" UNF high tensile, of whatever length for the particular location.

A spring washer is only required for 'anti-rattle' purposes, such as when shouldered bolts or bushes are fitted to allow the anchorage to pivot freely.
On a 2CV or Dyane, that would be on the B posts, at the rear anchorages on the sills and the central anchorages under the rear seat.

For the front belts, the central anchorages on the chassis do not need them.

Thanks Ken - I've found a place in Bristol that will sell me 2 of these and anything else I need by the sounds of it. Going to visit them tomorrow - the guy was actually very interested in what i was using them for and said that Mike John (Hooky) had been in there in his yellow ex-Spain 2CV truck just the other day!!! small world, and if Hooky uses them they got to be good.....

their details - Kebrell Nuts & Bolts Ltd - 0117 983 0022

Cheers

Yep,
when folk use leftover bolts and nuts from old Brit bikes to build specials, particularly a certain 3-wheeled type, that's when the fun starts.

It's not often I lose my temper, but working on one of those has been known to result in spanners being thrown around...

Early 80s Land Rovers are quite, erm, "amusing" in that respect too!
