It's the doors that bother me. Otherwise yes, it's lovely.

Wow! That's a clean 2CV. And it's good to see intelligent mechanicing. A cross bar mounted on the pads of the car lift. I bet a lot of non specialist garages would just put the pads somewhere on the chassis underside. Although thinking about it the arms would end up too close together causing instability.

I used to lift my racer up on the sills-no worries.

I did however nearly lift the body off a Discovery once on a 2 poster, it belonged to one of our service advisors and I told him it wasn't a good idea but he was most insistant.

I lifted until the wheels were just off the ground and then asked him to get his locking wheel bolt key out-he couldn't open any doors!

He soon changed his mind about using the 2 post lift.

Although, he was a complete tosser too that pissed himself in my car one Christmas so I should've just carried on really!

On normal lift's the arms will not go close enough together on such a short wheelbase, so the workshop tend to put the arms on the sills rather than the chassis.

That is the reason I always bring a wooden beam for the MOT, and instruct the workshop on how to use it,like the steel one in the pictures. I dont want them to lift the car by the sills, as I find it silly. "lol"

Agreed, I wouldn't lift any other 2CV by the sills but, my racer was pretty well bolted together with reinforced sills and all body mounts over-engineered!

Not strictly 2cv, but nonetheless apt.
