Try spraying WD40 in the lock first. I've had problems with turning the key once inserted, but a quick squirt of WD has done the trick and has lasted. You may find the key inserts once you've tried it. Can't hurt giving it a go.

Tried that the first time but it didn't work.

Thanks a lot! I'm gonna try that on Monday. Hope it works...
Anyway still got to acquire some parts, hope to do that Monday on my way to work.

Meanwhile I bought a Saxo for back-up transportation :P

Drove the Saxo all weekend, I really hate it. It's too silent, safe en sensible...
I can actually hear the radio instead of the engine, but the car doesn't communicate with me. In a 2CV you can hear if she is happy with your driving style or not. It does a zillion miles to the gallon but gives you zero smiles per gallon. With a 2CV every trip is a fun journey on it's self, the Craxo will just take you from A to B(and will eat your soul in the meantime).

Very wise words indeed. A very good reason NOT to have a sound system in a 2CV.

Bummer didn't got the time to do it today. After tomorrow I'll be working on a different location for over a week. Hope to be able to at least remove the old lock tomorrow...

Haven't been able to pull it of yet...

Found a new lock, so that's good. If I understand correctly you need new bolts, but do they have a name/part number?

Also finally found my Haynes back but the instruction for replacing the lock is not that clear to me...

Its not easy. The heads of the nuts that hold the U bolts in place are designed to snap off upon fitting. Leaving a nut that has no sides just a cone shape. Often easier to cut the u bolts with a small grinder.

When you have a completly new lock including the house you can cut the U shaped bolt at both sides whit an angle grinder and a cutting blade. Then you can put the complete steering wheeel with lock away, push the 2 ends upwards. You can buy a exhaust U bolt from the same seize and put that in.........

Don't have my car here so it's quite hard to imagine from my head.

Does a 2CV U bolt fit?

Today I could finally take a look at her, seems that there are no breakaway nuts but normal nuts!
Anyway so if I am correct I can now re-use the U piece? This afternoon after work I'll begin working on it, it shouldn't take that long...
