 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Looking for something to respray, I really enjoyed doing that last year. I don't have time to fanny about taking things to bits this time but a respray can be done in a couple of weeks. Failing that I might just buy parts and spray them up just to keep me interested. Dash panels, or even bonnets perhaps?

Old-Nail wrote: The Honda has turned out to be unexpectedly perfect. I've said before that I'll go out for one thing then come home with something else entirely, and although the Mrs chose this one it isn't that bad. My three options were to buy a modern classic, which means that I'd still have something depreciation proof and mildly interesting to run around in. Second was to buy a stealth car. Something innocuous that goes unnoticed and so isn't nick-able. Or finally to go balls-out and get a Crossfire. I like option 3. The 'No point beating around the bush just do it' type option. Option one would take time to decide on the right car let alone find a good example, which left option 2 - Stealth car. Fast, silent, extremely well appointed, unfailingly reliable - yet unremarkable. Silver too, which means it gets lost amid the sea of silver on any car park. The Honda is the perfect non car. I prefer German cars, had lots of Audi VW and BMW products, but grudgingly I'll admit the Honda matches them in build quality and surpasses them in levels of equipment. All for two grand. Other good news is that I've just signed another 6 month lease for the house I'm in, so a big sigh of relief there, and it now gives me all summer to buy something else to tinker with - happy days. I must promise to do more work and less messing this year though, or I'll be renting forever. Eh , maybe I do not understand this , but if you have this Honda-thing, why don't you keep the Old Blue Bamboo? Or is that a silly question ?

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Have you done any airbrushing? I'd like to finally get my car signwritten, and fancy something in this style. Fancy a challenge?

I've put them together in the past but what always lets them down is the paint job. Obviously I wouldn't expect it for free and would supply the paint.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Send me a pic of it James let me see what it needs. Never done airbrushing Russ. Those are stickers I would imagine, there's very little signwriting now. Because it's too late Geert. Reserve has been met and the car is sold. Everything has to do with timing. I needed to get one modern car only because I might have to move house again, now the car is sold - and I find out don't have to move. No matter, I don't like to stand still for very long anyway so it was time for a change. spanners wrote: When do you want me to drop my Ami up then? Buy the materials and I'll do it. Seriously. Harry too, I enjoy spraying. I can only use cellulose due to the place I spray but you can still get a cracking finish with it. If I'm not out in the garage spraying then I'll only be roped into visiting garden centres and shit like that come summer.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
It's not stickers, it's pretty much all airbrushing. You don't fancy having a go then?

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
That chequered effect looks pretty simple, the lettering quite difficult. What would you want and where would it be put?

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
A ripped chequered background with 'RHFabrications' on each side, (both doors, rear wing and A panel) and probably something on the bootlid.
