Post Re: Chassis woes
"A bloke near Selby" fitted one of his early [non-galvanised] chassis's to my '88 2CV in 1996.
Despite not being galvanised, its stood the test of time well, and is [afaik] still rust-free and I've had no probs whatsoever over the last 14 years with it.
Having seen other makes of replacement chassis, while they may look perfectly adequate [to my untrained, somewhat inexperienced eye] .....if I was having a replacement chassis fitted to another 2CV ......I'd choose the same supplier.

btw .....the one thing which [imho] has helped my chassis last so long is fact that there is no "underskin" to it ......as far as I can see, there is nowhere to actually trap water.
I might as well add .....that I dont by any means consider myself an expert .....I'm just a highly satisfied customer.

best regards
Terry

Buying a chassis is like religion. Some like the sister, some the mother. I'll take both

Perhaps this is the religious connection Sean.

Post Re: Chassis woes
Thanks James, thats an interesting post.It seems that there are 2 or 3 popular chassis to choose from out there.Maybe only 2 (Kens and Ecas) to actually use.My car was fitted with a 2cv City chassis last May.I hope its a good one.Having seen the video on flexing,I will see what mine does when the engine is back in.Does anyone know if the movement was caused by mearly moving the engine on one side by hand?
