But look at the alternatives:

The Citroen 'Cheeky girls'

The 2cv'Two-Slags' (Deux Slagaeu)

AC/DC2CV

The Citroen 'Harry'swhores'

I think Citroen just went an' played it safe.

As well as the Saab I'd have a serious look at a mid 90s Volvo, 940 or 240, if you look hard enough you can find a gas converted one. Personally I wouldn't go much beyond the mid 90s. Once the car started to get CAN Bus electrics it all got a bit overly complicated.

My own Volvo 940 is now on 220K miles and it is still going strong.

Volvo 240s are absolutely great cars. I had a black GLT estate, 1988 I think, and I loved it. Really cool, in a sort of retro boxy 1980s way too.

For good comfortable reliable practical transport that is cheap you can't beat a BX Diesel Estate. I had a 1.7 TZD, fantastic beast.

Berlingo's are good too and dead cheap. Had three of them.

If your going up market and want all the bells and whistles the C4 Piccaso is great but will costo mucho when the twidly bits go wrong.

Paul,
are you quite sure that it does what it's supposed to do?

Change your browser to Opera.
It has built in spell checker and underlines everything as you type it that is wrong.
It then also gives you the correct spelling.
I too can be a bit dyslexic so it is an invaluable way to get it right.
Others should take note.

If I was in the market for an 80s cool classic, I'd look for a Peugeot 205GTi, but perhaps stay clear of the 1.9 as I'd like to see next week, next month, next birthday, next year....You get my point
