Ken If i was with you now, I'd buy you a pint!!! brilliant work!!! It's not ntil something like this crops up that I find out about the quirks of A-Series....seems April 1966 to May 1968 was a 'special' period - graphite with 18 splines....and my car sits slap bang in the middle of those two dates!!!! thanks a million W

Will, maybe have a word with Roy @ ECAS when they open tomorrow? He's likely to know more about this, but I have a feeling that the 18 spline driven plates may be the same as on the later coil spring clutches...
