Full info on Visa cable...
Outer sleeve is 615mm between abutments, with the hole for the 5mm clevis pin being 40mm out from the bulkhead abutment.

The length of 6mm threaded rod at the clutch end is between 105mm and 160mm out from the abutment.

Diameters of abutments are 13.9/15.4 at bulkhead end, 11.8/15.9 at clutch end.

Great stuff, thanks Ken. I'll measure the cables up tomorrow, if I get chance, and see how they all compare.

Photos would be helpful. Maybe I don't fully understand what's going on. Are you fitting another gear box, if yes from what year and model?
What type pedals are fitted?

It's a drum brake box, I'm not sure what from. I'll try and get some photos of the pedal gear tomorrow.

I solved this problem like this. Take a tube 2 cm long ( lenght as you need)which is as thick as your outer clutch cable, slice it up so you can put it over your inner clutch cable.

Slide your existing outer clutch cable downwards so it comes out of the thraeded housing (which goes into your body wth the 2 nuts on it)
Slide the new tube over your inner cable into the thraded housing and your outer cable is 2cm longer, worked by me. I'm sorry for my bad English when you don't understand what I'm writing i make a drawing....

p.s you can make the tube as long as you want but your original outer clutch cable still has to go in for at least .5 cm..

Hope I could help you......

As Viking sez, pictures are needed... ;)

Fairly sure that the plastic abutment at the gearbox end is the same size as that on '70s onwards' 602 gearboxes and that the attachment at the pedal end can be modified to suit.

The amount of thread available at the clutch end gives plenty of leeway, even if only to run things on a test basis.

On the other hand, I'm probably barking up the wrong tree altogether, especially if the outer sleeve length is way off.
All part of the fun of 'mix and match', though...
