I regularly wash and hose my car off underneath in the salty conditions btw.

Yeh, it'd be a bugger if wood-rot set in to the floors...

I don't really do car washing.
I've just bought a welder.

Surely the time to worry about this is in the summer. Starting from now, save up, get whatever needs welding welded and then on a nice day in the summer waxoyl/rustproof to your hearts content in the sunshine... which will have helped make the waxoyl runny.

You won't ever stop the rust, so why make life miserable (and possibly dangerous) for yourself by trying to regularly wash the car in freezing conditions? Stay in the warm!!! By all means get down the jetwash station when its warmed up a bit (they seem to be closed for elf&safety round here at the mo) and wash the bottom then, but don't worry so much!

my plan is if i get the job im going for in march (its 100 yards from my house) then i can take the car off the road for a feww week, probs take body off and start with a clean canvas
