James have a look at LGY 275P risers again in the A series Threads...

If you know owt about Dyanes you should be able to see what in this case spanners aka jon did to build this one about a decade ago...(what's missing and what's been added compared to a standard dyane)
For starters you need an Ami super Chassis, blended with a GS engine (in this case an easier fitting 1220cc with 4 speed box) and a Dyane body shell...
It would take a while to explain exactly what is involved welding cutting re wiring more cutting, custom made exhaust systems, re position batter box, gear linkage etc....

More like a sculpture really a modernish work of automotive art, blending 3 different car into one!!!
Just my opinion!!

Citroen did that bit of blending for you...

At the very simplest, it's a case of find an Ami Super, scrape the rotten Ami shell off, drop a 2cv or Dyane body on.

Or, rather, was - when Ami Supers still existed.

I think the Sidewinder concept is now dated/old technology. The GS motor is to heavy for the 2cv, it also needs to fit slightly further forward which disrupts handling even further. The GS suspension can deal with the extra weight of the engine + GS brakes are even better.

Fit a BMW or Moto Guzzi engine over a GS, or a force inducted 602/650cc. look at Joolz's thead, it is the way forward.

As can the Ami Super suspension

Front calipers, disks & pads are exactly the same between a Super & a G.

But they are still dated and too much of a compromise compared to what's possible nowadays. All they really have in thier favour is that they are easy to build compared to fitting non Citroën engines.

My point is that the hydro-pneumatic suspension on the GS far out performs that of the 2cv and Super, although the Super copes better than 2cv chassis/running-gear it is quiet a bit heavier. The dampening effect of the GS suspension assists braking/cornering substantially, i think this is often forgotten.

Oh, sure - but then the G is a considerably heavier car than even an Ami-bodied Super. It's not as if a sidewinder's a homebrew bitsa where the suspension & brakes aren't up to the power. It went through full manufacturer testing (well, what passed for it with Citroen in the early '70s...) - with a heavier shell than a 2cv one. Or even a Mehari one...
