chris, in the bluesmoke thread, i think sean (correct me if im wrong sean) told me that you want about 1 tooth after firing?? maybe if youve got it dead on then that could be why??
incidently i had the maynoise build up (i personally xalled it something else  !!) and since fitting a new oil breather, no maynoise!!

nope. now that its timing is correct you have no mayo

timed too soon( advanced) and the pressure rise may not be enough to "pink" but can blow the mosture laden(hydrocarbon+ Oxygen gives off...?) gases past the rings, hence tending to leak oil and moisture laden sump.

the good breather certaily helped

Yes retard it slightly to see what happens
oil change will do no harm either

hmm its kinda full of shite at the moment tho isnt it?

getting it good and hot will help burn some off

where does the big breather tube from the top of the oil filler go? is it open to the elements? or does it have one of those boy racer "dump tube" filters on it if its closed off you may be stopping the" breathing" that the engine needs to do.

also if the breather is kaput itll be sucking in as much cold moisture laden air as its trying to dump out

The seal on my breather is bollocksed which let's water in and that turns to mayo in the breather. I've done a couple of oil changes and some long runs before and after etc and it's only when it rains that it occurs, and it leaks oil from there too. I should fit a new breather but I can't be bothered plus it's more expense and if the worst happens I've got a stack of engines anyway.

what's the worse that could happen as a result if small amounts of mayonnaise?
