The wipers were running in that photo, they actually park on the other side away from the driver, that's one of the things I changed during the rebuild.

James I've done this for the last few years and it works well. I've left a bit more gap this year though because for one I know I'll be taking it back off at weekend, and also because the wife had a Chicken to cook and begrudged me the foil.

Yes it's park road, just heading home to a nice hot cuppa'.

Such a fantastic looking car, the colour looks great in all lights.

Surprised I've never seen it running around as I drive round Chorley/Leyland area quite a lot. Would be great to see it in the flesh as it were. I wish there were more on the roads up here.

Post Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Thanks guys. In my next post I'll hopefully be running through the making of a home made grille muff as a more permanent replacement for the baco foil - and, if I'm lucky enough to find the spare bit of roof material I have knocking about, then it'll be all colour co-ordinated and posh too.

Alkie I use the car every day so it's only a matter of time mate, I'll look out for you on my travels. I recently got an invite to a club night held by the 'Lancaster bombers', they were holding it at Guy's thatched villiage near Billsborough, which isn't far.

As it turned out my other half was working that evening and I couldn't go as I had to pick her up from work, but it's worth getting in touch with them to see when and where they meet I suppose.

Post Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Not the promised next post about the winter muff yet as I've just come across a couple of photo's relating to what we were discussing earlier. The colour thing.

Image

This two tone Jag looks lovely, and the colours used could be imitated by the use of Citroen Monte Carlo blue (or even Lagoon) over Bleu Myosotis.

Image

This ruby red Citroen might actually be metallic. I don't know for sure, or even what it is that makes me think so, but it does look well.

Image

The interior has started off well with the light door cards and seats, but then failed to carry it through with the other items of trim. For the most part it's only paint, so it doesn't cost much more to do but the effect he would have had with all those black bits in light grey would have been something else entirely.

Image

And finally, (and no offence if this is your car) but..

Image

It still looks cute and fun because it's a 2cv, but for us older guys the look is too young. Imagine a bit like your dad dancing at a party, we older guys need to tone it down a little. :D
