I presume the level was topped up at that time, then? I can't see 'wear' causing such a drop in level since that time, so I suspect you have a leak somewhere.

Unless you are very, very, very heavy on the pedal?!

Citroen dealers ,about 8 quid a litre, GSF stores stock it (german-swedish-french, a good car parts chain), about 5 quid a litre, green bottle with citroen logo. There are also one or two other makes that do LHM.

Ah!
as V said check bulkhead inside the cabin( but then a new master shouldnt be leaking)

Wheel cylinders any sign of dampness at the backplate?

Just had a ciggi break and looked all round, everything dry except where the bottle pushes into the master cylinder.

Ya I forgot that the MC is new. Maybe the bottle is cracked or leaking around the seals. Did it leak before fitting the new MC

could be its not seated right

push it firmly down then try to pull it up if it moves then the lip on the bottle hasnt got/bit in to its groove in the rubber they can need a fair old push and sometimes they drag the seal down rather than pushing through it

mine leaks badly if i do the cable tie trick so might be worth snipping that and having a push and a wiggle if youve tried that particular tip

Because they sell LHM!! :!: :| ,LHM=liquid hydraulique minerale ,it's the stuff in big citroen hydraulic suspension system, same stuff is used in your late 2cv brakes!

I have bought it both from a citroen dealer and GSF, GSF was cheaper.
You could have been nearer a citroen dealer than anything else for all i know, s'why i suggested it..sorry for helping out

ps just in case you dont know LHM is thin mineral oil and not ordinary dot 4 or 5 brake fluid and if you put that in it will knacker your seals.

It's ok I know not to put in normal break fluid, I'll give the tub a wiggle when I finish and top it up, then it's just a case of mopping up the leak and see what happens.
