 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Hee hee...I'm on a roll! I sent some photo's in to the 2cvGB mag' a few weeks back after Maurice announced a photo competition, another one has also appeared in this months (Nov issue) Practical Classics apparently. I had also considered writing and submitting the entire rebuild story to a classic mag' as a freelance piece, but it's often difficult to have work published unless you already know someone on the inside, so as yet I've took it no further. I may still try though, after all what is there to lose? In a different direction now - Somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to remember seeing a painting of some VW Beetles on a wet street at night, in Berlin. I liked that painting, with its different coloured neon signs and reflections on wet cobbles, and so was wondering whether to recreate something similar but using some ripple bonnet 2cv's during a wet Paris evening!

Luke wrote: Get writing! Then you can put any fee towards fetching that ripple.... My thoughts exactly! The more I can stash away from my Mrs then two things happen; A: The fewer pairs of new shoes there will be in the house, and B; the more chance of seeing a ripple on the driveway there will be. I've just had a quick look for the VW image that I mentioned but I can't find it, I'll post it up here if I do. I've also just been flicking through the months club mag that arrived today and I notice there's part one of a rebuild story in there entitled - 'The Blue Bamboo'... I'm sure I've heard that someplace.

Squeezebox wrote: Old Nail....Like the easel...looks a decent studio one....so we can expect some more of your amazing painting I hope ? Yep it's a studio one. I already have a full size radial easel but I need another so I can paint more than one painting at a time without having to keep moving them around. I did this one last week, it's mainly done from memory because believe it or not houses like that still existed in the north when I was a kid... I know because I lived in one!
