 Ami Super chassis I might (only might) be buying a 2CV shell on an Ami Super chassis, complete with a GSA 1015 engine and gearbox. I don't especially want anything bigger than a 602 engine, so I was wondering if I can fit a 602 straight onto the Ami Super chassis. Or will it be easier to fit the 1015 lump and modifiy the front panels (or preferably the bulkhead - if there's one thing I don't like, it's that odd looking front end that most GSA conversions have)?

The Ami Super chassis is very different for'ard of the suspension to a 2cv one - you'd have to do a fair bit of work to put a 2cv lump on. Moving the engine & gearbox back to get the normal front panels on wouldn't be straightforward. You'd have to lift the box up on top of the steering rack - which would cause strange oil levels and stress the already weak driveshafts. A Dyane shell will hide it all without external modification - just need an alternative support for the front panel. But it seems a bit odd to buy a sidewinder if you just want a two-pot...

I'd rather just buy a standard 2CV. I have a good 602 engine and 'box in the shed, and ... well, you can see how my thought process went.  Is the GS lump as unreliable as everyone says it is? That's the only thing that's really putting me off using it.
