Post Lumenition Instructions
I've just "received" a 2nd hand lumenition unit along with a bag of ignition related bits & pieces but without instructions and wondered if anybody has a set that they could either scan & email or photocopy & post please? I would like to assume that the instructions supplied with new units provide a step by step guide - am I right?

Not really dudes. I saw that link to the generic instructions over on 2CVGB but a) I don't know exactly what model I've got and b) precisley what it replaces.

Here's a pic of what I've got:

Am I right in assuming that the module block gets mounted away from the engine & the optical bit sits in the points box?

Aha, I think I've answered my own question. It looks like the black plastic rotor is a push fit onto the timing cam which then "chops" the optical sensor inside the points (now removed) box. I take it the advance weights are still required to advance the timing.

Hi Bertie,

I've seen the module mounted on the inner wing before, but when I fitted one to my dyane I extended the wires and put the module onto the firewall. You're spot on about the sensor and the advance weights. I'm guessing that you'll be timing this up at full advance too, so at least you can check the weights are doing what they should.

Luminition Instructions,

remove from box
check all components
open bin
chuck all items in bin
search ebay for 123 ignition
feel satisfied.

;)

or alternatively

1. do your research & ask the opinions of lots of people instead of just one
2. obtain a lumenition kit for the price of the petrol it takes to collect it
3. see how you get on as you've lost nothing but time if it doesn't work out

:geek: ;)
