I'm not having a go dude, just echoing the sentiments that you can't organise atmosphere

Mr Pembro was heard - by quite a few people - to volunteer loudly in the bar on Sunday night.

Post Re: 2CVGB International
Hello All

This was my first meeting of any car anything....only went for a few hours on the Saturday. It was good, I didn't know what to expect...

Met Ken and Russ - which was nice to put face to name etc.....bought some new / old wing mirrors from a Frenchman (had to start talking French, which was quite exciting for me - still didn't get him down in price though!!)

met the chap with the Ami 6 Berline - was expecting a few more Amis to be honest....

all in all - pretty good....needed a proper bar though....and Bristol for next year sounds perfect....(from Bristol so I would say that)

Will

Is that because you brought a sprat with you, so couldn't fully participate in the evening debauchery?

Exactly, the event was still a significantly sized waterborne mammal, but smaller in scale and more childish. :?

Well we had a great time [apart from the wind and lack off good warm showers]
Much fun was had though

Just uploaded all our pics onto my website
Link: http://public.fotki.com/jonm/citroen/2cvgb-national-2010/page4.html

Oh and my 2CV got there, the 20 or so miles running around the local area and back home
without a single problem which is a good - round trip of approx 260 miles / £30 of fuel.
Hope you like the pics and video, enjoy…
Jon

For those of you that missed the table wrestling... Here's two things i thought i would never see... Louis Barbour and Roy Eastwood table wrestling.

I think the table wrestling on the last night topped off the meeting. It was by far the best night. Loads of people in there having a proper laugh. Most people had no drinks for about an hour as the bar closed. But everyone stopped to watch.

Keep an eye out for the ''I2F International Table Wrestling'' at a camp near you soon. I know its being taken back to Holland Waggel maybe?

A good meeting. Don't we always come back from somthing and have issues? We may try and get somthing together for Snetterton 24hour. Etienne seemed up for pushing it to the french to come over.

Max.

Post Re: 2CVGB International
This is just my opinion, and maybe I'm wrong, tell me if you want, it's the arguments that make this place fun after all, but was the lack of atmosphere people are talking about anything to do with peoples expectations? Did everybody turn up half expecting it to be a bit shit after knowing what Coops had to put up with and endure in a lack of time and under difficult circumstances?

If everybody rocks up expecting to have a shit time, then they're quite likely to have a shit time?

I enjoyed the afternoon I went for, despite being a grade 'A' sell out and turning up in a normal car (I'm not going to be a twat and try and justify it by saying 'ooh, at least it's french', I made my 2cv useless for such things, had to go in a modern car, and that's my fault)

I'd like us to organise an event at Snetterton next year, the date thing is always a cock, and that's what scuppered us last year, but I reckon it's worth a go.

Anyway, back to whether or not it was a good meeting, this year has been a full on FAIL year for me, the bad times sticking in my memory far more than the good ones, although that's not to say they outnumber them. The easter camp I enjoyed, Pete's 60th was great, Registers was wicked, Snetterton was the best yet and I know Spa will be awesome as usual, But the big shambles for me was France, which was shit, combined with a summertime that seems to have flown by already. I'd have liked to have done the International properly but as many of you know I've been out of work and money/time has been hard to come by. I reckon, in all honesty, that if I'd gone for the whole meeting my outlook on the year may well have been more positive. I realise I've got a generally pessimistic view of the year so far, but that's me, I'm a miserable git.
