yes, easy to fit! couple of minutes work. Still got an earth fault somewhere. the bulb that flashes when you indicate appears to be on dimly flickering all the time. the starter has been very reluctant to turn too but usually starts fine off a little bit of a turn.
Pins knocking wheels i think. exhaust catches wheel when reversing or tight lock left, van is filthy, fuel tanks not working right yet, return pipe not yet fitted plus about another page of issues and to do's

Tyres are abit old i think as even in dry if you slow turn on a roundabout in second it spins the inside wheel! mental

Nope, that's normal.

wanted to take him to work this morning but would not start, started slow, sticky and drawing enough volts to reset the stereo completely! After work fitted an accurate digital (multimeter) volt gauge to see whats going on. of course he started first time.

its funny, the more revs you give the lower the voltage from the original volt gauge wiring on the dash? weird.

also fitted the speedo cable yesterday. went out for a cain and I have the loudest speedo head ever! pulled over to remove speedo cable and without thinking turned the engine off... would it start again? no. started seized!

my mate luckily came and bump started Jeremy and I quickly cained it home.
now the fun can really start. there are two options to change the starter, both require the wings and panels to be removed and by the looks the quickest and safer/easier option is to remove the engine from the gearbox... theres Sunday booked up then!

should I risk fitting a spare I have or try to buy a new one? is it likely to go wrong again? the one I want to fit was on the engine when i got it, not the one thats been sat in a garage on the 1220cc since 1984 or before?

cheers... sadly off the road again for a few days minimum!

I'd be tempted to strip the spare down and clean it up/inspect it before you put it in... Shouldn't take too long compared to actually changing it!
