 Removing the fan

I dont understand why you should have such a problem - the beige beasts fan hadnt been off since - I guess - 1979 and came off with no such problems.

I have always found that a recalcitrant fan will come off if you use the weight of the car to help you - shove a 1/2" ratchet driver down the hole - mine is a very good fit - and lift the whole of the car up and down sharply by the end of the ratchet - dont shove it right in to the hole in the fan as you will loose the overall leverage effect - repeat until free......

oh i've tried that several times - and as for striking it off - i've raised a lump hammer a good metre in the air and struck the 20mm bar damn hard - and i'm no weakling

Crikey....thats a queer one no mistake...try with your rod in place, and rather than bash it vertically, hit it from side to side, horizontal like

sorry to keep on - but tried that, from the left side, right side, from below, above - got some penetrating oil today gonna try that
