 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
It looks fantsatsic now it's out and about. You must be very proud.
Top marks for playing on the snobbishness of the roller owners too.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Great to see such a good turnout of 2cv's at a classic car event and nice to put faces to forum names.
Long may it continue.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Old Nail, it may have been your wonderful car the RR owners were jealous of, or it could well have been something else... Anyways, straighten that bent paper clip, will ya?

I've no time for folk that look like they're sucking a lemon, doesn't matter what car they drive. Oh, and paperclips are meant to be bent mate, otherwise they'd just be called 'tubes'.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
I've got a feelin' I recognise that sour faced ol' cow with the Roller from last week .....its a '75 Silver Shadow ....[am I right .....it's down in the programme as his car,but she drives it] ....it was in the Hope Valley show last week. Unfortunately .....it was me [in my 2CV] who followed her out off the showground ....she was driving at half a mile per hour, and I'd got a mate in the car with me who'd been on the lagers all day ....and he wanted to get to the pub for some more......[I was gaggin for a pint meself too] .....needless to say,she got some verbal. heres my car in the Hope Valley show [fwiw] ....here's lookin' forward to seeing yours at St Ives next weekend .... [2cvgb registers day] best regards T.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Thanks for putting me right on that paper clip, Old Nail; I now realise it was the camera angle in the first photo. D'oh! You have chosen the most glorious colour for your car, and the contrasting red interior - well, I'd never have thought it would have worked, but it does - totally. And that cream side panel - inspired. I think it's my very fav...

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
I was telling James at the meeting that I've had another idea for a 2cv colour scheme that's not been done before but I think it would be a jaw dropper. I really hope that I get chance to paint another car with the colour/trim combination that I have in mind as I'm sure it would be better than this one, and it's not retro either but clean and modern. Terry I wondered why that couple in the Roller took an instant dislike to us as it normally takes me at least five minutes to upset someone like that. I'll not be at registers mate, unfortunately we're off to the west coast of Scotland on Friday till Monday to attend a wedding. Will try for the international instead.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
A shame you can't make it to Registers Day, I'm sure your car would win, hands down. I'm also looking to go up to Scotland, next week. Hoping to go out to the Uists and Benbecula, or Harris & Lewis again.

I'd much rather be at registers day prize or no prize, but if the Mrs doesn't get her way this time then I won't get my way...er..for weeks if you see what I mean.
