Got the old girl back today!
Handed over £3500 first.
So with the other bill of £2500 and the cost of the car....

Still shes good! Very good!

Just cover her is rust-proof now and am sorted!

i think out of all the colour schemes, yel and black, and maroon and black was the best two

but i do think yellow and black does look so amazing

especially a nice shiny yellow bulkhead

sounds like you have spent alot on it, but the way i look at it with my car is, you can spend just as much on a modern piece of shit and blend in with the rest of the world
at least in a 2cv yourer different and stand out a tad due to its amazingness!!

Yes, everytime I see the old girl I think what a pretty thing she is!

Mechanically she is sorted now so just a bit of bodywork touching up and she should be good for another 28 years!

I think mine is a '82(?) x-reg

yes it has 2 new cylinder heads which I think amounts to a new engine almost? (I'm a bit of a novice)

don't need to be to jealous as the bodywork needs a bit of work

I don't want to speak out of turn, but I think you should find another garage. Where did you get that info about the heads?

as I say, don't quote me, I'm a novice with engines. The car feels 100% better now, so I'm happy.
He's done a great job and said that the problems are: that someone has renovated the car but either done stuff wrong or just lost interest (or ran out of money)

I'd forgotten about the other thread tbh, but it just sounds a lot. Good investment though...
