Post Re: Random kindnesses
Earlier this year I went to my wholesale store to get some undercoat and as I walked in an older man asked me if the car was mine.
I responded positively and he said he had some old bits 'n pieces lying around for me that otherwise where going to the scrapheap and if I was interested in picking them up. Of course I was, so I did my shopping, grabbed a bottle of wine from my liquor cabinet and drove to his place.
In the end I returned with this at home :D

never lend money, to anyone, thats what i learnt

ive seen that happen so many times, sorry to hear it happen to you

i know someone who has done that to someone and i dont know how he lived it down, he paid back in the end i think...

i never borrow off anyone anyway, because i hate owing and i hate knowing that the next time i get a bit of money i have to part with it straight away rather than buy something for me 2cv :D

Holy Smoke!
Went for a run this morning (training for a half marathon on the Isle of Barra next week). As I staggered into the last mile of my run, I went past a drive just as a mature gent was removing the plastic cover from what turned out to be a Pembleton kit car. I stopped to ask him if it was indeed a 2cv derived kit car... and we got to talking for a while about all things 2-cylindered.
Just as I was about to take my leave, he asked me if I wanted any old 2cv bits, since he had a few things lying around in his shed, irritating his wife. Cut a long story short I'm now the proud owner of 2 very good front wings, 2 excellent back wings, 2 good front doors, 2 good back doors, a grill and muff ensemble, a very good back bumper and 2 of those cooler slit things that sit between the front wings and the bonnet. He didn't want any money, and thanked ME for getting them out of his way. RESULT!

Also, I got to have a lift home in the Pembleton, saving me from staggering home all sweaty and knackered. First time I've been in one... it was loads better than a Lomax.

One benefit from kitcar builders: they wan't to get rid of 2cv parts they don't/can't use, and often for free..
I've collected fenders, bonnets, small parts this way..
They happy, I'm happy :)
