im 88 though....

If its the same red as my '88 its Rouge Vallelunga ....
GKB AC 44 on the Citroen tin.
I get my touch up matched at my local refinishing suppliers....the last tin I bought carries the number CR3265 [although obviously thats his mix code].
My "local supplier"? ....Rotherham Refinishing Supplies,Barbot Hall,Rotherham ....tel 01709 328918 .....it aint cheap, but you do get a big tin [400ml,bigger than the 150ml Citroen one anyway]
And if you intend calling "in person" ,your welcome to call in for a cuppa,'cos its only 200yds from my house.
btw .....I'd use a local supplier to get it matched every time .....'cos red fades worse than any other colour...... take the bootlid with you to get it matched.

EDIT ...btw ....if you aint too particular ....Gloss Red Hammerite [Smoothrite] is as near dammit a match .....although the merits of using Hammerite is [imho] doubtful.....it aint as good as its made out to be,and once its on you cant put nuffin else on over it without it reacts.

look in the phone book mate, Halfords are ok if you're desperate, but fairly useless as a pukka paint shop. If that draws a blank, speak to Sam fieldhouse, and ask who painted his car, they were pretty good from what i remember, and they'd probably point you in the direction of a decent pro paint mixing place.

Post Re: colour of 2cv
just to shed some light as to why i want the paint anyway

when i bought my car (cant stress this enough) it had a dent in it, i didnt do the dent!!
being a young driver everyone assumes it was me!

ive not dented my car...

anyway it was 110£ to have the dent in the wing removed, and looking on ecas i can buy a new wing for 76£ and as the wing is slightly rust i think ill go for the new wing - i also need it as i have a new bootlid (well i say new, its not new one i was given which i sanded all the rust out and primed with red oxide) and need to paint that and i also want to wet flat back my other wings to rid the stone chips in them and also to sand out the rust and make my car look beautiful again

while on the topic of boot lids - any idea how to re fix the citroen 2cv6 special badge and how to get "D*lly" on there - stencil? steady hand?!?!?!

same intentions with the bumpers, i have rust bubbles and as well as the odd rust mark so i put the rust killer on yesterday, most rust has gone, apart from the biggens so ill sand the rust out and spray those up!

russell i will speak to sam, im happy to do the spraying myself with the spray gun as its a proper one, just getting the paint

thanks

yes my friends spray gun runs of a compresser

130psi i think it kicks the air out of

not sure out the end of the gun though....

yes i thought red oxide was sensible seeing that the bootlid was wight before, just need to wet flat it back and spray nice shiny red

do i need to laqer the paint after spraying? or will it naturally be shiny?

Should dry nice and shiny ....if you do it right.
Laquer is only neccessary over metalic ....and even then,it can crack & craze if not applied correctly.
The "D*lly" stickers are available as ....errr  ....stickers.
I cant remember off-hand who sells 'em,but they do most of the "big" meets [Registers Day,International, etc]
