Now that would be thorough!

(Remember to slip the collar on to the wire before soldering the ends together... )

Ha ha!

James is right - heat sleeving over soldered joints is the best solution for a permanent fix. You may wish to consider using push-terminals. This would make wing removal much easier in the future.

If you decide to go for this option, it might be best to have the terminals mounted on the engine bay side so's they don't get constantly sprayed under the arches.

also if you go for push terminals of some sort, smorhter then in grease
i work on boats, on the engines and wiring etc and we see a lot of people using non sealed connections (and i guess in the wheel arch its in a similar situation )

the grease trick has never let me down - like i grease my fuses and the threads on my sparkplug and pretty much any bolt that i take off and put back in !

i like my grease!

Or, earth the indicator with a ring terminal bolted high up under the wing, smothered in grease of course... ;)

Having to remove and refit 2CV wings more times than is good for me, that's my preferred solution.

I'm guessing you scratched it on the bumper?
next time, cut a section of an inner tube out and slip it over the bumper, like you would a condom. (but obviously not on your bumper)

There's a knack to it, you'll get it after a bit of practice. Every body damages a wing the first time.
