I've got my first set of kingpins to do some stage soon, for a friend - ECAS tools purchased at the Int'l, along with new pins.

I had been feeling a bit "Umm, why did I volunteer?", but that looks like an explanation clear enough for even me. Wish me luck!

Nah - if i can do it anyone can!

This is a good explaination and pretty much exactly as i do it ;)

Only one problem i've had is the top cap not sealing. I've recently done 5 Kingpin changes and only got 2 to seal (and dad did one of those) one poping up and leaking grease and others have had grease just coming past the cap, this is a problem as it's not greasing the kingpin in the right places as it should.

What am i doing wrong? :?

Mine is still a bit oozy. I peened it over in 3 places, but a tiny amount still escapes

I 'peened' the crap outta mine all the way round trying to get it to seal, I may have set myself up for a problem if I ever have to change it again.

Nothing. It is common for the top cap not to seal 100%. The main thing is that you can feel pressure when pumping the grease gun. The grease will find its way around the king pin and out between the arm and hub. Did you see this
