My car has two knackered kingpins, a manifold that's been blowing since July, leaks everywhere and a gearbox that's surviving on pure faith.

Last week I bought two new speakers, an amp and a sub. And I spent an assload of cash having stickers put on it. You're only young once...

In my years of car ownership, I've found that the moment I buy something unnecessary (as my dad would class it) for my car that something important breaks.

I used to have some Rockford Fosgate subs in an old car of mine - with a big amp and, as Sean puts it, a hose pipe sized power feed to it. Definitely put a fuse on the line, and a grommet on the hole.

Yep, fused and gromitted.

theres a hole either side of bulkead top corner, one will have the rear loom t'other may have a single sleeved wire for the courtesy light

Cheers Sean, that's the route I went, top passenger side of bulkhead, where the loom goes through. I was able to fit it through the same gromit too.

My sub isnt crazy, it's 800w at 'peak' power but I'm runnning it in - it's certainly given Muse some depth, kinda deepened an already decent ICE system :)

Exactly like that, and to be honest, its pretty good. Got it brand new from eBay for £65 including a wiring kit/fuses/etc... so im pretty chuffed. The black one was £40 more.... no brainer really.

And hell, I'm a real man. Only real men have pink subs.
